LIKE EVERY GENERATION of believers, today’s older adults carry an innate sense of responsibility to pass the torch of ministry to successive generations.

Praying for young adult singles, families, and their children in today’s world is number one in importance. It is the gift that goes on giving.

You know them by name. And God has an amazing divine network that is activated on behalf of young adults and their children in your family, your church, and community, through your prayers. You may even be part of God’s answer to a prayer yourself.

THE GREAT COMMISSION is given to each one of us. It is Jesus calling us to share God’s message of hope and love.

Tom Mercer is Board President, Executive Director of the Oikos Movement, “aligning life with the Great Commission. Tom has been in pastoral ministry for almost 50 years.

He says, “Young people stay away from church for the same reason most older people do; not because the music is unfamiliar but primarily because there is no compelling reason to attend in the first place. People need a better reason to attend church than simply because it is the right thing to do! Churches need to come up with better reasons to invite the younger generation than simply because they want to avoid closing the church’s doors. That is a terrible excuse for having a church – just to see if we can make it survive!”

Having been in pastoral ministry for over 60 years, I couldn’t agree more. This is why, in 2025, Ward Tanneberg Ministries has worked on a creative way to “tell the story of Jesus through the power of story.”

I HAVE SPENT A LIFETIME doing what I still do today—telling the greatest story using the gifts he gave and the skills I have learned. I’m more excited about it now than ever before. I feel called to remain unchanged in the foundations of my faith while connecting the story’s relevance to current generations.

With my newsletter/blog, “Perspective,” I have successfully targeted those of us in life‘s third age (60+). But in 2026, I will expand my target audience to include younger generations as well—to our adult children and grandchildren, who might be challenged by reading a modern-day story about the Greatest Story.

THIS YEAR WE TOOK A STEP BACK

to further hone my writing skills under two authors with sixty combined years of experience. My daughter, Michele, who is also my business manager, and I have also worked with a professional marketing expert to better understand the “business” side of what we want to accomplish.

I revised novels I wrote in the past so that a larger reading audience will find my work exciting, relevant, imaginative, and of the highest quality. Telling the story of Jesus through the power of story in real time. Our time. More to come about THE CAIN FAMILY CHRONICLES in the days to come.

I WRITE AS AN INDEPENDENT AUTHOR. I wasn’t sure what that might mean at first. I know more now.

This ministry is supported entirely with my own limited resources and with gifts from those of you who know me and want to partner in this unique outreach.

Thank you so much for your support in the past. As we enter 2026, I ask you to include us on your list of people and ministries for whom you pray.

WARD TANNEBERG MINISTRIES is here to inspire and encourage followers of Jesus who also follow me on social media or on my website. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in reaching the hearts and minds of those who never read the Bible or attend a place of worship.

If you feel led to partner with us financially, there is still time for your 2025 tax-deductible gift. Here’s how you can make a meaningful difference:
